Kalpana then moved to the US and in 1982 joined the University of Texas to pursue a master’s in aerospace engineering. He completed this course in 1984.
His desire to become an astronaut was so strong that he also did a second postgraduate in ‘aerospace engineering’ in 1986 and then a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from the University of Colorado in 1988. Also completed.
Kalpana Chawla Career
Kalpana Chawla was inducted as vice president of Oversett Methods Inc. for the NASA AIIMS Research Center in 1988, She also did a lot of research in her life while staying at NASA.
Looking at Kalpana Chawla’s dedication and hard work, she was later inducted into the top 15 teams of the space mission and upon seeing that, the team of 6 people also joined the name of Kalpana Chawla, who was to be sent to space. Similarly, Kalpana Chawla’s dreams were now clouded.
Kalpana Chawla’s First Space Mission
In April 1991, she became a naturalized United States citizen. Kalpana Ji joined NASA’s Space Passenger Corps in March 1995 and was selected for her first flight in 1996. Their first space mission began on November 19, 1997, as part of a six-space passenger group, off the STS-87, a flight of the space shuttle Columbia.
Kalpana Ji was the first Indian-born woman to fly in space and the second person of Indian origin to fly in space. Rakesh Sharma flew in a Soviet (Soyuz T-11) spacecraft in 1984. Kalpana Ji spent more than 360 hours in space in his first mission. Kalpana Ji, having traveled 10.67 million kilometers in his first mission, made 252 revolutions of the earth.
He said these words while traveling in the white sky of space. “You are the result of your intelligence”.
Kalpana Chawla’s second space mission. In 2002, Kalpana was selected for her second space flight. He was included in the crew of the STS-107 flight of the Columbia spacecraft. For some technical and other reasons, the campaign continued to retreat, and finally, on January 16, 2003,
Kalpana climbed Columbia and started the STS-107 mission. It was a 16-day mission. Kalpana Chawla along with all his teammates conducted 80 test experiments on this mission. But then it happened that everyone’s eyes are filled with thinking.
The whole world, including scientists and space lovers standing for the reception with flowers and bouquets in their hands, got immersed in the hobby after seeing that accident. It was only 16 minutes for space to land, when suddenly the stall exploded and all the astronauts were killed along with Kalpana Chawla.
Kalpana Chawla Death
On February 1, 2003, the Columbia spacecraft shattered as it entered Earth’s orbit. At the sight, the remains of the spacecraft and the seven passengers aboard it started raining on the Texas Salt City and the campaign called successful became a terrible truth.
Kalpana Chawla’s Death was already Decided
According to media reports, as soon as the Columbia Space Shuttle took off, it was learned that it would not land on safe ground, it was decided that the seven astronauts would die in the mouth of death. Even then they were not informed about it. This is surprising, but it is true.
This was revealed by the program manager of Mission Columbia. Every moment of the journey, Kalpana Chawla and her 6 companions kept walking the space in the shadow of death. They were not even allowed to know that they could not come to safe earth. He continued in his mission with life, he kept sending information from moment to moment, but in return, NASA did not even let him know that he had left the Earth forever, leaving pieces of his body It is yet to return.
